For some, this childhood play turns into a part time job cutting lawns, raking leaves, or shoveling snow.
The Backer brothers, Joe and Karl, have been in the landscaping business since 1987. Joe's specialty is administration, while Karl has a more extensive background in operations.
In the time since the brothers came into the business, they have built one of the largest landscaping and snow removal companies in Southeast Michigan.
Currently, the company has 27 professional crews and equipment valued in the millions of dollars.
